Nestled on the edge of Shere, one of the prettiest villages in the UK, a beautiful five-minute stroll gives you easy access to pubs, an award-winning cafe, one of the best restaurants in Surrey, a Co-op and specialist local beer, wine and gin shop. Shere is a quintessential English village, it’s charm and beauty has made it into a Hollywood favourite, featured in The Holiday, Four Weddings and a funeral and Brigitte Jones.... to name a few. Beyond the village is the local vineyard, Gin distillery, mountain and road biking trails, walking, stately homes and gardens, golf and fishing.

A fifteen-minute walk across the fields, or a few minutes drive, brings you to Albury organic Vineyard and the neighbouring Silent pool Gin distillery. Both are award-winning and open for tours and tastings. Their locations are stunning, so you can enjoy the view as well as the experience.

award-winning deli cafe, an ice cream parlour, and Kinghams restaurant (voted Surrey’s No1 by Trip Advisor).
The Surrey Hills is an area of outstanding natural beauty which is why so many people enjoy being active in the great outdoors. If you are feeling more adventurous, you are surrounded by some of the best road and mountain biking in the UK. We are only a few meters from the Olympic cycle route and surrounded by off road trials. If you have bikes you can leave them securely on the porch.
The Nookery is perfectly situated as a base for keen walkers offering mile upon mile of established routes with sensational views and unspoiled landscapes. Shere was a popular resting place for those walking the Pilgrims Way (Winchester to Canterbury), the route goes directly by the Nookery. The North Downs is on your doorstep so you can put on your walking boots or wellies and head straight out. There are downloadable maps and apps to help you find your route.

HOTEL AND COUNTRY CLUB
The country home of Lord Beaverbrook became a retreat for the likes of, Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor and Ian Fleming... if the walls could talk! Beaverbrook is now a stylish hotel and club, and a 25 minute drive from Shere.
It is part of the same group as the Pig hotels so you can expect an indulgent experience. The interiors were created by Suzie Atkinson, famed for her work across the Soho House Group, who has brought contemporary elegance and country house glamour to the estate
